Overview:
A Russian language course on the Transsiberian Railway in 1986 was the first trip that Lernidee Erlebnisreisen carried out. The travellers were full of praise and even the New York Times reported about this event. From these days the name "Lernidee" (learning concept) derives even though the company no longer offers language course trips, now concentrating on its extensive "Erlebnisreisen" (adventure tours) programs for tourists.

Since the year 2000 more than 25,000 satisfied customers have travelled with Lernidee on the Transsiberian Railroad, making Lernidee Europe's Number 1 for exclusive worldwide Private Train Charters. Addressing charter clients, groups and FIT’s, Lernidee also offers Private Train journeys amongst other regions of the world on the Silk Road, throughout the Baltics and the Mediterranean/Red Sea area.

Lernidee also operates exclusive overnight cruises on Thailand’s and Laos’ Mekong River making formerly inaccessible parts of the Mekong accessible. All three company-owned boutique ships offer the highest possible comfort available in this part of the world. Excursions to undiscovered villages feature unique cultural and educational experiences plus untouched nature.

The key business principal of founder and sole owner Hans Engberding of winning customers and partners through high quality travel advice, planning and execution has ever since been maintained. The 45-strong employee team in the Berlin headquarters organizes unsual, sophisticated journeys on Private Charter Trains and Boutique River Ships for about 7,500 travellers per year.
