Overview:
Even though the Meck-Pomm area of Germany is the nation's most popular vacation destination, the Tourism Federation here intends to keep its focus on what has brought about that happy state of affairs. They will do this, officials say, by continuing to focus on the programs that have brought so many travelers here already: maritime activities, cycling, family vacation, wellness programs, youth tourism and activities for travelers with disabilities.

The Tourism Federation of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, to use its official moniker, already has brought the area high levels of overnight stays, among other achievements. In addition to connecting with clients in traditional markets, Meck-Pomm now intends to gather strength in new market sources both in Germany and abroad.

The federation already represents the entire tourism industry in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, particularly in its interests with local tourist organizations throughout the state, and with the rest of Germany and the European Union. The federation is an association of private interests, and is exclusively cooperative and non-profit in nature, financed only from member contributions, its own subsidies and internal revenues.

With a pattern of success already well established, the federation now aims to gain additional international tourism attention and a substantial increase in new holiday travelers.
